Technical Race Walking.

Technical Race Walking.

In this test, it is required to walk, and not run through a series of continuous steps performed in order to maintain
a contact with the ground. That is, the heel of the foot is touching the ground earlier, before the end of the other leg has left the
same. The previous leg should extend the time it hits the ground and remain so until it has been completed
step.

The trunk remains upright and always performs the shift forward, taking advantage of the momentum of the anterior third of the
foot, his keeps upright by tension of the abdominal muscles and lower back. The trunk there to make the rotation on
itself, this act will fall on the shoulders that will turn imperceptibly.

The arms are used only for balance. The opening angle of the arms should be roughly 90 °. This angle
also varies with the distance to be traveled by the athlete:
- Run 50Km - slower - more open arms and step over.
- 20Km march - faster - more closed arms and short pitch.

The work of the arms should be in line shoulder joint movement against the movement of the hips but even
pace.

The head should be in the normal position as walking down the street.

The hand and elbow, do not set the pace of the movement, synchronization is complete with legs made her shoulders
pushing the arms back to come back later with your own reflection. The power should be used exactly
so that the arm does not go backwards and forwards.

The heel does not step hard, but it rests gently so that the foot can slide like a "roller" and develop
all its efficacy pulse. Upon reaching the heel to the ground, shoulder and elbow correspondents must meet to
back with what you get adequate tension flank, which should never be flexed to get up a good rhythm and
ease in "passed".

The fulcrum of the movement lies in the chairs, which with its rotary action forward not only facilitate lengthen the step,
but also require legs to walk on the same row, i.e. one after the other.

NOTE: Observe the type of shoes (sneakers) worn by the athlete. The jump can not be more than 20mm. Valid tennis type
"Wedge" or jump over. If the size of the jump exceeds the established measure the athlete will be disqualified even
who has completed the race.
In Brazil we can cite as within the standard measures 20mm heel, the "tennis Iris" in Europe and the "Adidas".

Regarding the frequency will step gait sports have:
- Normal Gait: 120 steps per minute and
- Walking sports: 160-180 steps per minute.
